- No. We believe in earning your business every day. Our agreements are flexible and can be cancelled at any time if you're not completely satisfied with our service. However, we are happy to accommodate formal contracts if your organization requires one.
- Can we choose what products go in the smart coolers?
- Absolutely. We work with you to curate a menu that fits your location's preferences. From healthy snacks and sparkling water to traditional favorites, we customize the selection to your needs. Plus, every smart cooler has a QR code sticker that allows anyone to request specific products directly.
- How often are the smart coolers restocked?
- We use remote monitoring technology to track inventory in real-time. This allows us to restock proactively before items run out, typically visiting locations 1-3 times per week depending on volume.
- What happens if a smart cooler unit breaks down?
- One of the biggest benefits of smart coolers is that they have far fewer mechanical parts than traditional vending machines (no coils, motors, or drop sensors to jam). This makes them incredibly reliable. If an issue does occur, our systems alert us instantly for same-day response.
- What payment methods do the smart coolers accept?
- Our modern equipment is 100% cashless for speed and security. We accept tap to pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay, as well as all major credit/debit cards.
- What if a customer is charged but doesn't get their item?
- Since our smart coolers are 'grab-and-go', customers only pay for what they take. If you pick up an item but change your mind, simply put it back before closing the door and you won't be charged. If there is ever a billing discrepancy, customers can scan the QR code on the smart cooler to request an immediate refund.
- How do you prevent theft?
- Our smart coolers use sophisticated 'active AI' vision to track exactly what is taken. The door only unlocks when a payment method is presented, and the transaction is finalized automatically when the door closes.
- What insurance and licensing does North Star Vending & Amenities have?
- We carry full general liability insurance with $1M/$2M limits, and our policy includes blanket Additional Insured status, Primary & Non-Contributory wording, and a blanket waiver of subrogation to meet standard commercial vendor requirements. We can issue location-specific Certificates of Insurance for any property we service. Our vending operations—including refrigerated and smart cooler equipment—are properly licensed at the state level for handling sealed, temperature-controlled products as required.
- Are the smart coolers energy efficient?
- Yes. We use modern, Energy Star-rated equipment with LED lighting and high-efficiency refrigeration systems to minimize energy consumption and operating costs.
- How much space do I need?
- Our standard modern smart coolers require about 30" wide x 30" deep of floor space and a standard electrical outlet. We can also provide slimmer units for tighter spaces or double units for high-traffic areas.
